why they were called Pharaohs. They felt this nickname rather insulting. That is why Maria Teresia ordered to call gipsies "new Hungarians".
They were really good masters of the smith and cartwright jobs. Gipsy musicians became the main
interpreters of Hungarian folk music and folk songs.
